Start with the frame

A sofa lasts as long as its frame. Look for solid hardwood joined with dowels or mortise and tenon joints rather than staples and particle board. The Cloud Sofa sits on a solid oak plinth built the same way as our tables.

Choose covers you can take off

Removable, washable covers add years to any sofa. Ours zip off and wash at 30°C, and we keep making replacement covers for every model we have ever sold.

Ignore the trends

Deep seats, low arms and natural linen have stayed comfortable for a century. Choose the shape you want to sit in on an ordinary Tuesday, not the one that photographs best.
